Dawn at the port

I woke up really early this morning - perhaps too much pastis last night. It looked a bit cloudy but I thought I would have a try at some sunrise snapping. Off to the oyster port and the clouds gave the dawn light a steely quality.

Back at the cafe now and outside in the road the childrens'* swing band is getting warmed up for the 11 am show.

* Adults for children. Not actual children in the band.

Big extra news. The council has just dumped a big boulder on the grass verge outside to stop the neighbours parking on it. Excellent. I wonder if there is going to be a formal unveiling ceremony conducted by the mayor.
