Waiting

Photographed in one of the bars in the Royal Albert Hall.  This guy was waiting for the start of the concert, sitting in front of photographs of artists (Olivia Newton John, Cliff Richard, Tinie Tempah) performing at previous concerts at the venue.

Tonight's concert, the third in this year's season of BBC Promenade concerts, consisted of a wide selection of music performed by past winners and section winners of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition, from Michael Collins who won the woodwind prize at the first ever competition 40 years ago to 16 year old pianist Lauren Zhang who was overall winner this year.  It was an impressive line up of talented musicians and an interesting variety of musical pieces.  I'm glad we made the effort to get there.
