In Flanders Fields

Canadians are intensely proud of their hugely significant contribuition to world wars and peace keeping missions.

This poem, written by a Canadian, John McRae, is revered to this day and epitomises to the population, Canada's memorials to war dead and casualties. I believe it is also the source of the tradition of the poppy as a means of Remembrance
