Nuthatch tongue

The only reason I got a clear photo of this quick little guy is because there was a predator in the yard somewhere.
I never saw it, but this bird knew something was out there, and sat like a statue for at least five minutes.  
I had time to spot him, wonder what he was sitting there for, run into another room, grab my camera, get the settings right, walk up to the glass door, and make him immortal before he ever moved!!
p.s. he got clean away with his peanut!
