Allez les Bleus!

We returned from a three-day trip to Paris on Monday, 16th July. Our 45th Wedding Anniversary was on the 14th, which is Bastille Day in France.
 The weekend then was really celebrated in style, with the fabulous firework display from the Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower at 11.00pm on the Saturday evening of the Jour de Bastille. 
  
We joined the huge crowds down by the River Seine near Bir Hakeim Bridge,  and ooohed and aaaahed, and clapped and cheered as each spectacular pyrotechnic display soared into the velvet night sky. 
It was 27C, after a hot day. 
What a way for the two of us to celebrate our 45th year of married life. 
Sunday was of course the World Cup Final. 
In the photo, taken on a mobile phone, we were mingling with fans at the Trocadero who were making their way to the Champs de Mar behind the Eiffel Tower, to watch on a huge open air screen.
100,000 of them  were there. 
It was quite a weekend!
