Remembrance

Our Act of Remembrance this morning. The Last Post, a time of silence, a powerful and moving time.

We remember and pray for all those who have given their lives in service and continue to do so, and for those who have been injured. We pray for those currently on active service and their families and friends. We pray too for an end to war and conflict and for peace in our world.

The picture of the war grave is one I took in 2006 when I visited my Great-uncles grave in Meteren in France. G H Stafford - 10th June 1918 age 26. I have researched our family history and last year managed to obtain copies of some of his military records, which are fascinating.

We will remember them.
