Beaten by a flash

I appear to have a new visitor to the garden in a woodpecker. I was excited to see him and made a mad dash for my camera, zoomed in, focussed and pressed the button. The blinking flash went off, the woodpecker took fright and was gone, and I was left with this. I've tried to salvage it and you might just make him out.

As I back blip this on Sunday he has returned, but again I've missed him.

Don't know why but I feel slightly melancholy this afternoon, and no it was nothing to do with rugby.
