Rob had never seen the film. 
Pity, he would have been able to read the signs. 
He would have taken a minute to reflect on the fact that the harbour looked calm this evening. Perhaps too calm. 
He would have thought twice before lowering the kayak into the water.
He would definitely have not joked with his mate Mike that no one had ever seen a Great White this far up north. 
And he would surely have done a u-turn upon hearing that cellist setting up in the bandstand. 

Rob will never learn...

Well now, for sure, he will never get another opportunity to learn.
