The accidental finding

Ardchattan Priory

Kate, Maria and Harris the dog and I went on one last cycle ride this morning before they took me to the station.

Our destination was Ardchattan Priory. It's a couple of miles from the house, and we often wander around the grounds. Our cousin Kate, the one who got married, lived there with her siblings and parents in the 1970s, in Dairy Cottage in the grounds. I think I blipped it in July 2013 or 2014.

Valiscaullian monks no longer live there, and the tea room is closed too (!) But there are some interesting old gravestones, and the grounds are spectacular. We usually go to the open day/fete, if I am around.

The weather is improving as we head south towards Glasgow. Isn't that always the way on departure day? I've had a great wee break, and I hope I'll be back at some point later this year.
