One of the Crab Apple trees behind our fence lost it's crown in the early hours of Saturday.  Gill was woken by the noise but thought it was distant thunder.  When I came back from work we were out in the garden and realised the tree didn't look as it had done .... the rest was behind the fence where it has done some damage but, thankfully,  nothing too serious.
