Chilling
Amazingly Katrin and Kimo emerged from their tent this morning claiming they had slept well and only once been disturbed by the boss in our household, 15-year cat Cindy who did an inspection with her normal loud complaining noises.
After breakfast, Uncle Jochen, Katrin and Kimo took off for a sightseeing tour first to Ottobeuren and then the 20km to Mindelheim which is holding it's triennial 10 day medieval festival, one of the biggest such historical festivals in Germany with some 2,500 people taking part. On returning they reported it had been a wonderful visit to the market and were very taken by the incredible attention to detail to recreate the late 15 Century/early 16th Century atmosphere.
The rest of us simply relaxed at home, I did some mid-morning shopping to replenish supplies for the evening BBQ. And when all back together after lunch, it was simply chilling around the pool, talking, drone flying and at 16:00, three Germans sat down in front of the TV to watch Sweden vs Germany game. While they did so, the English and semi English (Irish) continued to enjoy the sunshine and beer outside.
Out of a chance remark, son J flew his drone over to the village to photograph the family Mueller's house which we would be visiting the next day. It's a straight line distance of about 620 metres (or 2,000 feet) and as the contact to the drone became week, son, son-in-law and Angie, dressed only in swimming shorts and bikini and the boys with their glasses of beer, crossed over the main road outside the property to continue the flight. In the extras just one of the astounded passing car drivers - apart from the locals, nobody knows there is a house anywhere nearby and thus rather confusing.
Finally I did manage to get the BBQ to do its bit and we all sat down outside for an evening meal, more beer, wine and schnapps, one or two participants now with sore heads and while most of us sat around talking with the second football match on TV in the background, they volunteered to read the grandchildren a bedtime story and didn't reappear!
