Enjoying the sunshine

A different sort of day, today. Intense in its own way. I did get a break at lunchtime and was able to walk outside near the West Auckland inpatient unit, which is where I saw this Australian magpie, and its mate. They tolerated me being close enough to be able to get this photo (and a couple of others). I then walked around "the pond", as it was named by the person who directed me towards it. Signs warning humans to not throw food in the water, as decomposing food kills the birds. The water looked unwholesome, and there were no water birds to be seen.
