Relic

This is a detail from a wooden arch standing in a small park off Bayley Lane in Coventry. The arch came from the ruins of an inn and has been dated to between 1405 and 1410. Interesting to think of all the patrons who have strolled in or staggered out under this arch over 6 centuries.

I was really just interested in the gnarled detail of the wood.

The extra was a bit of mad-cap experimentation.
