Today was the Inverclyde Young Bowler Championship played at Gourock Park. After all of the weeks of stunning weather this morning the rain came. The weather early in the morning was heavy but did not deter the twins who set about their games with zeal.

Both progressed from their respective groups and won easily in the quarter finals and the draw was kind and they avoided one another in the semis so a win for both took them to a final against one another. Mum struggles when they are in direct competition but both were on great form playing stunning bowls and very very well matched. At the end of the match they were tied and a sudden death end was to see Mimi edge the game.

It was lovely to see them enjoy their sport and to see them play together made us burst with pride
