The Lit and Phil

The Literary and Philosophical Society in Newcastle was built in 1783 as a meeting place for inventors and thinkers to share ideas. It now houses a large collection of artifacts and a handsome library and is open to all. A friend and I enjoyed a guided tour of the building this morning as part of the Great Exhibition of the North.
