Sound and lights please?
Tonight we went to a sound and light display at the Peterborough visitors centre. You never know what you are going to get do you? This was a fabulous, entertaining session on the history and the significance of rail to the town. I am not really a railway buff but couldn’t help loving every minute of it. This is a panorama of full size, original engines. I thought it came out well.
This morning we went to the same place and did a very long cold tour and saw all these original engines and carriages up close and personal. Some are the only ones left in the world and are pretty awesome. Peterborough is now a town of about 2000, and tourism is a major industry. It looks like caravan central.
We also saw a statue of Bob, the railway dog who used to hop in with the drivers and go all over eastern Australia. He sounds like Red Dog a kelpie in Western Australia.
