Plug 2
This is a CEE 7/7 plug or a Type E and F compatible plug. It will work in both France and Germany or any country that uses this pattern. This plug is German, half the price of the French Type E plugs that I also bought, but definitely inferior to the quality of the French plug.
Compared to the British BS 1363/Type G plug (extra) they are both quite horrible, and the British plug is safer, better designed and superior in every way. Admittedly some aspects of the design are anomalies of the UK use of the ring main meaning that most British sockets can deliver 26 A of electricity which is rather a lot and the fuse is a good idea, whereas the radial design of most continental wiring means that the maximum deliverable current is only 16 A...
