Leaves at the top

Not the best photo, taken today from Whitefriars in Perth. Just couldn't really understand why all these trees just had a cluster of leaves left at the top only?!

Today I was helping out, as I do every year, in Perth library selling Christmas cards. 100% goes to charity, so it's a worthwhile cause.

My mum's up for a visit for the rest of the weekend, so we had a nice M&S 'dine in for 2' meal.
