Oriental Poppy

A dull, rather mizzley start to the morning but things gradually improved as the day wore on and now, in the early evening we have a lovely blue sky with a few cotton wool clouds scattered here and there.

There are still a few poppies about .... mostly single blooms that have withstood the recent, very dry, conditions.
I spotted this solitary poppy growing in the shade of a tree in the Barnhill Rock Garden in Broughty Ferry.

Home in time to see the Mixed Doubles tennis matches .... exciting stuff. GB have some very good doubles players ... shame that they're meeting in the semi finals but we will have either Jamie Murray and his partner or Harriet Dart and Jay Clarke in the final.
