Such a shame

I've been meaning to stop and blip this scene for ages. It is the industrial estate at the Eurocentral junction of the M8 heading west. The view shows the absolutely beautiful industrial units on the site of the old Chungwa plant.

You may remember that Chungwa came to Scotland with HUGE subsidies to build a production plant for TV tubes. I well remember the plant and knew people who worked there. It was a dead loss - a giant plant that never amounted to anything and lasted only a couple of years. A giant waste of money.

These new units are empty - the place is a ghost town. What you see is about 30% of the available industrial/office space.

This is such a lovely estate with fountains, seats and little lakes. It is a travesty that it lies empty, it really is.
