Field of dreams

Today was meant to be mostly cloudy.  In fact it was mostly gorgeous.  On my walk I discovered the whole east side of Whiteshute Ridge was on fire with rosebay willowherb (epilobium augustifolium).  This is just a small part of it.  The colour is SOOC..

And excuse me saying this, but it's a blipper thing; doesn't nature have an extraordinary way of transforming the way we see?  Snow, fields of flax flowers or poppies, pink, blue, orange, even green skies.  I was speechless when I saw this spread of rosy spikes, patterned like a forest of miniature pine trees and shimmering in a wonky kind of way against a ridiculously blue sky.

Heat stroke.  What it does to you, eh?
