Moorhen

The route of last Tuesday's walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers, around Condorrat and Broadwood Loch, took us past St Maurice's Pond. However, I was too busy chatting to some of my fellow walkers to break off and take photos of that particular location. However, I made a mental note to return and rectify this gap at some point. Monday was that day.

A short drive over on Monday night and a wee wander around the pond was rewarded with some photos, including several of a moorhen paddling about and feeding near the loch's edge. I stood there for quite a while, watching it and the other pond-life enjoying a still summer's evening. I liked this photo the best.
