Spring Lake Morning

Ozzie and I hit the lake early this morning before it got too hot. We practically had the place to ourselves although I did pass one group of women having three different conversations in two different languages all at once. And a lady who offered to take a picture of Ozzie and me in this spot and then proceeded to give me the history of every pet she's ever had.

I told her I didn't need another picture of Ozzie and me, but I'm glad I stopped to talk  listen to her. She told me she was hearing impaired which explained a lot. I think she was probably lonely....

The extra is chicory which always blooms after all the other wildflowers have finished, and always in the driest places. It definitely knows how to draw attention to itself.

It's still hot, but I love the warm evenings which we almost never got in Berkeley. Tonight we're going to celebrate a neighbor's birthday at a newish restaurant called Salt and Stone.
