Ripon Hornblower

A nightly setting of the watch occurs in Ripon Market Place, with the horn sounded at each of the four corners of the obelisk in the market place.
The watch has been set every night without fail for over 800 years; the spectacle draws visitors from all over the world and it well worth seeing.
Ripon itself is a beautiful small Cathedral city, with the World Heritage Site is Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Gardens only a few miles outside of the city
