Echinacea
There are a few houses in the village where the occupants place pot plants outside, with an honesty box for payment. When C takes Ziggy for a walk he now takes change with him just in case there's a plant that takes his fancy and that is small and light enough to carry back home with one hand whilst the other hand holds the lead.
This echinacea is one of his recent purchases.
The lane where we live is quite renowned for its glow-worm population, and C often sees them on his late night Ziggy walk. Evidently they like to live only where there is very little artificial light, otherwise it interferes with their glowing. It's pretty dark where we are as there are no street lights for a couple of miles. Last night we were just about to go to bed when we spotted the glow of a glow-worm in the garden, very close to the window. I hope I can stay awake late enough tonight to go and look for it outside in the garden, as I've never seen one close up.
