Waiting

I had a 9 o'clock appointment. In the coffee lounge on the ground floor of Waverley Gate. But 9 o'clock came and went and there was no sign of him. Quarter past nine came and went. Bored and disgruntled, I took a photograph looking up at the roof. At twenty-past nine, just as I was leaving, a hassled-looking PA flagged me down and apologised profusely for my being stood up. A mix-up. We'll try again on Tuesday at 1pm.
