mini memories

This on a racing green, complete with stripes, mini that judging by the sticker must have made the journey from Perth in the west to the east coast and then south across the Bass Strait to Tasmania (almost 4000km, and then I guess they came back!)

My first car in Tassie was an apple green mini, appropriate as Tassie is 'the Apple Isle' and what a great little car she was. Up hill, down dale and carting a large golden retriever and running on the smell of an oily rag!

One of our shared highlights was driving home late one evening along the north-west coast into a sky alight with a swirling, pulsing, curtain of green. This the aurora australis (the southern version of the aurora borealis) and Tassie is one of the places to see this magical phenomenon.
I remember parking on the side of a very dark road and watching the sky show and for a while it was like being on another world.
