End of an era
Well, the day is nearly upon us. Longtime friends Miriam and her mum are leaving for good. We've known since the start of the year but it always seemed such a long way away. In between, we have spent more time together doing fun things, as evidenced by five collages that I put together for them as a parting gift from us. Even now, the full impact hasn't sunk in. We will feel it more in September when things don't return to normal.
We were able to spend about half an hour chatting in a very empty living room! Fortunately, three sofa/chairs were left so it was fine. The fridge is being emptied and we came home with a chilled bottle of Cava! I'm trying to make light of things...
My picture is symbolic. Our two friends will have seen their last sunset as Dubai residents today. From now on, they will be visitors if/when they pass through here.
The two a/c's which were serviced yesterday and working beautifully. I wish I'd got it done earlier, like in May - when they should be done.
