A first for me!
Sunday 8th July 2018 (backblip)
Golly it was a hot one today ........ luckily there was a little breeze ....... but it was far too hot to drive for an hour to the Limewoods as we had intended!
Instead ..... we nipped into town to see if we could get some new curtains for the living room ...... asked in one shop about having them made to measure ....... the material we had seen was lovely ....... but not quite that lovely when we were quoted about £380! Tried another shop ...... found just what we had been looking for ...... inquired if they had the size we needed ...... unfortunately not & they were an 'end of line' so we couldn't order them! Back to the drawing board!
So we consoled ourselves with a walk at Westgate Woods ....... not far to travel!
We had a lovely walk ...... saw lots of butterflies including Green-veined White, Small & Large White ...... Meadow Brown ....... Red Admiral ....... Small Tortoiseshell & the first Painted Lady of the year for us :-)
We also saw a first for us ........ a female Silver-spotted Skipper! (main photo) We had never even heard of these before .... let alone seen one ....... chuffed!
Also there were Small Skipper (top R) & Ringlet (bottom R) ...... thought I'd include the Small Skipper so that you could see the difference in the wing pattern ...... do hope you like my selection :-)
