Low Newton

Mrs P and I took a long walk from North Sunderland (Seahouses) along the coastal path through Beadnell to Low Newton-by-the-Sea. It was quite misty at first but the sun broke through eventually.

Highlights of the day were crab sandwiches for lunch, bought at a stand in Beadnell beach car park, and seeing terns feeding chicks at Long Nanny reserve. We didn't have a close view of the rare Little Terms, except through a ranger's telescope, but some of the more numerous Arctic Terns were nesting right outside the rangers' hut. Low Newton has an excellent pub, brewing their own beer, which we enjoyed before the short walk to High Newton for a bus back to North Sunderland.
