Pink Hollyhock

More Hollyhock folk lore and fact. Otherwise known as Alcea Rosa. The name Hollyhock comes from Holy mallow. The plant has connotations with the circle of life and ancient Egyptians made hollyhock wreaths and buried them with mummies so that they could lead them into their new life. In the Tudor era, the blooms were steeped in wine to prevent miscarriages. These flowers were in our garden as it was too hot for me to go out far.
