Hats and beer

That was the order of the day for the 1940's weekend in Ingleton. A little more sedate and dare I say, English affair. Far fewer American uniforms than elsewhere. Dancing in the square and less bustle than other events.

Had a walk from Bentham (don't think I've ever been there before) to Ingleton, perhaps not the best of plans for such a hot day. Walk went wrong when, having followed the footpath across a field, I couldn't find a way out! So backtracking and more road walking than I really wanted.

One consolation - if I was mad, spare a thought for the runners in the road race around the lanes - they were suffering.
