Martin’s Hole

Once upon a time older rock layers pushed themselves up over younger rock layers. It’s fascinating to see the 22x19 meter wide rock window, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site «Swiss Tectonic Arena». 
But it’s also an astronomical phenomenon. Twice a year – in March and September - the sun shines through the hole and illuminates the church of the village Elm.
