Finished!!

After another full day of hard work by Jon and Henry, the summerhouse is finished. Henry helped with the roofing felt among other things and did the electrics. After dinner Daniel went and found his old bed in parts under our bed and in the loft, and his chest of drawers from the landing. Mollie has donated a bedside table that she hated, and he has retrieved another box or two from the loft, with his lamp, an extension lead and his tv. A camp chair in the corner and a rug from nana and he has a room of his own! I had to stand back to get it all in, and as one door is closed, there is a bit of reflection but you get the feel for it. Everyone is a bit jealous of Daniel.

I did stuff too, but didn’t take a photo. I am very pleased with my potted front garden. I’d weeded and strimmed yesterday so today I just had to pot up all the bargain plants I bought in Homebase yesterday. It was satisfying replacing the horrible soil on my two long planters and replanting the daffodil bulbs low down, then the bedding plants on top. I will defo take a pic tomorrow as it’s too hard to describe.

Cooked a nice roast dinner and invited mum and dad, plus Josh. So there were 8 of us and we squeezed around our garden table. It was a nice end to a busy, tiring, satisfying and accomplished weekend.

Very ready for our holiday. Clothes now packed and Henry and I sorted out and packed camp chairs, walking boots, wax jackets and my wellies (they aren’t taking theirs, but this is our summer holiday, so I’m not taking any chances!)

Two more days at work for me! Can’t wait!
