Hoose on the Hill

A day on the Downs

Today we headed off  to the Weald and Downland Museum. On the way we came across Bignor Roman Villa. There are most impressive mosaics and artefacts from the small area of the site that has been excavated starting in 1810. (see extra)

Then on to the museum where there are many rural buildings rescued from deriliction. The buildings and their furnishings together with the excellent explanations give a real feel of life in the past.

We went on to East Wittering on the coast where we had a great meal and a walk on the beach with views over to the Isle of Wight and along to Portsmouth (see extra)
