Waiting for the start

Abbie made her debut racing in The Netherlands at the NSRF Slotwedstrijden, this year held in Rotterdam. As she rowed to the start the water was perfectly calm and flat, when her race started a headwind picked up. By the afternoon that wind was quite strong which made rowing difficult.
Abbie was very impressed by the huge numbers of rowers and boats, but rowed quite well. She rowed through the field in her heat after a tricky start, but didn’t have enough power to also take first place, but a very good 2nd place.
