Big Bowl of Candy

Marius went on a business trip for most of this week to a town near the Swedish border and returned with goodies from Sweden - which are far cheaper than here in Norway - including this bowl of assorted candy which is (far too) quickly disappearing.

I went down to NAV today and had a meeting about looking for work in Norway - all in Norwegian! I understood most of what she said, and she gave me some good advice and looked over my translated resumé. I went around the downtown core and stopped into some cafés and restaurants, one owner seemed very interested in having me come in as extra help, maybe 1 or 2 days a week, which I think is a good start. He's originally from Turkey so he knows what it's like to try to get your first job here.

Another place I went to didn't have any openings, but I left my resumé there and chatted a bit with the girl who was in charge. 30 minutes later I get a text from here saying so sorry we have no openings, but to try these other restaurants, one which she thinks a Canadian works at, and if I needed any other help to just text her. She was so nice, a complete stranger I only met once, just trying to help, if I get a job Lisa gets a free meal there!
