An ordinary life....

And relax...

After falling into bed last night I didn't stir till 7.30am, which is another first as I usually don't sleep well the first night away from home, but the bed and pillows are soooo comfortable.  Like sleeping on a cloud.

Tesco delivery was booked for between 10 and 11am and once it arrived I could relax as despite double checking a million times, I had visions of it turning up back at home.

Alan was up bright and breezy and full of the joys.  He doesn't know yet that the pool hoist doesn't have the correct fitting for his pool chair so he might not get to use the pool!!  David has ordered the part online and it will be delivered here at the start of the week.  Hoping the owner will let us use it on the hoist.

We had a relaxing lunch but indoors as it was just too hot to sit outside.  Alan, Shelley and Jordan headed off on an adventure and we waited the England game.  Being half English I was cheering them on.  It's quite nice being in England whilst all this excitement is building.  We are not fans of football but it's hard not to get swept up in the atmosphere.  We will be here for the semi-final and final too.  Depending on the outcome of the semi-final, we might have to find a good pub to watch the final in.

Whilst we were eating dinner Jeffrey popped round for a visit and a drink of water.  He really is the oddest looking dog.  My lovely blip pal Withers thinks he is a pointer / lab cross and that was my thoughts too.  He is lovely though.  So gentle.

After dinner David and I went for a run in the car to Woolacombe as I wanted to scout out locations to get some sunset shots later in the week.  We found a car park that looks over the town and gives breathtaking views of the beach and sea.  I am so annoyed I forgot to bring my tripod (although where it would have gone I am not sure as both cars were stuffed to bursting!)   The views of the town were also breathtaking and we could hear lots of singing coming from somewhere in the town, England fans celebrating I am sure.

We drove through the town and onto Mortehoe, where I took todays blip from the car as we stopped to let a car past on the narrow road.  There were a few lovely looking pubs and eateries there so we may well end up there for the world cup final.

From there we drove to Ilfracombe and ended up down at the harbour just as the sun was about to set.  I am delighted as I have found my spot to photograph the sunset that has sea wall that is the perfect height for resting my camera on.  A perfect substitute for my tripod.  I will also be returning there to photograph the Damien Hirst statue Verity, which is very impressive.

After that it was back to the holiday house for some photo editing and a quick G&T before bed.

(Alan spent the day in Barnstable and had a great time.)

Night night :-))
