penmachno

Today was one of the best days I've ever had. Well, apart from all the ones that I'm OBLIGED to say were better, such as my wedding day haha ;-)

Myself, DirtMonkey and our two beloved mountain bikes took ourselves off to Penmachno, a little village near Betws Y Coed, on the outskirts of Snowdonia territory. After the usual fettling and faffing about we eventualy got peddling, about 2 hrs later than planned.

What a great loop of a trail - it was really good fun with some tiring climbs and some great descents. And I didn't fall off once, which shows how better my handling skills have become since I started about 9 months ago: last time I hit a challenging trail (the Marin trail in Gwydyr, opposite side of Betwys), I fell off about 6 times and properly clobbered myself. This time I just got on with enjoying the ride.

Made all the better when DM announced that'd he'd 'got back his mojo' (he had a nasty fall in November and gashed his knee, which had made him a bit tetchy ever since. Today his nerves vanished and I simply could not keep him in sight).
