Sunny Rothesay by the sea
My friend Tim and I arrived in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute this afternoon and did a bit of exploring around the island. My Blip today is a picture of the gardens on the prom, which I have to say are beautiful and put Oban to shame.
We drove right down to the south of the island to see the ruins of St Blane's Chapel - I'd not been there before. This is one of my extras today.
Unfortunately the island is still reeling from the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl last week - there were police everywhere and many areas cordoned off. This could be why the place seemed unnaturally quiet.
There was also a tractor rally in Rothesay which livened up the town on Friday night and Saturday morning.
The second extra is of our B&B for the night - Glendale, on the Esplanade, where we have stayed before on a previous fern outing.
