Visit to Brightlingsea

A whole simmering summer without a trip to the beach was rectified today with a day out at Brightlingsea, a small town on the Essex coast.
I liked the holiday ‘sheds’ pictured, inside are small beds and kitchen units, most are immaculately kept - a bit of keeping up with the Jones’.
Our daughter really enjoyed the beach and we had another few treats for her, a trip in a little ferry over to Mersea Island which has a nautical themed playground, in very good condition. I had a look at some WWII pillboxes of which there are a lot in this part of the country, there was also a tower that served as a lookout post for the royal observer core to spot German bombers during the Battle of Britain and the blitz. Rounded off with fish and chips and a very tired little girl who fell asleep on the way home. A good day out.
