Machrie

The kids did brilliantly on a reasonably long walk/cycle (for them) up to the standing stones at Machrie Moor. They didn't know what the stones are all about (any more than anyone does) but they were charmed nonetheless.

We also visited the Old Byre, which was as good as last year. Tasty food and brilliant outdoor play.

Back at the house we took the short track to the beach. To my delight, the sea was actually warm(ish) and the bigger kids spent well over an hour in the water, while the Bear did her best to eat all the sand on the beach, much to my horror.

After all the salt, sand and sweat was washed off we had a very tired brood.
