The fountains had been turned off and there was music and dancing in St Georges Square this afternoon to celebrate the 70th Birthday of the National Health Service.

Harold has been roped into the festivities.

Back in July 1948, Huddersfield-born Harold Wilson was in his first year as President of the Board of Trade and, at the age of 31, the youngest member of a British Cabinet in the 20th century.
