Of Pies and Tolethorpe
Tonight was an FNDG excursion to Tolethorpe, this time to see ‘School for Scandal’. Instead of the customary picnic we opted for a meal at the Willoughby Arms on the way over.
The meal (for ten of us) was excellent and we were well looked after BUT; I chose the Steak and Kidney PIE. Well the pie filling (casserole / stew) was top notch with real big pieces of kidney in it BUT it wasn’t a pie – nil points from the real pie club I’m afraid. If I go again I might well ask for the casserole . . .
School for Scandal was a top notch performance as we have come to expect from Tolethorpe. Mrs W and I will be away when the FNDG go to see ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’.
