Day 1 Oberland Alpine Trek

Into the Abyss

Steve looking at where we have to descend tomorrow, photobombed by an alpine chough.

We had a beautiful walk up to the Blüemlisalphutte (see extra) at 2836m altitude but the 1000m ascent really exhausted me. I had to have a serious nap on arrival! Throughout the evening huge clouds built up, thunder and lightening swirled around the hut making for some dramatic skies (see more extras).
