Dark green fritillary
Talking to a stall holder in Thame market on Tuesday (as you do), I realised that there were rare butterflies in a forest near us. We went off around 10am, armed with binoculars, cameras and tripod, and walked around the forest. We saw this fritillary and a couple of Purple Emperors, which we have not managed previously. Additional picture is a slowworm shedding its skin.
We used to come to this location a lot to walk, but it's fallen off our radar. Now firmly back on.
