Against the tide

As the tide eats up the beach from left to right, these gallant people build a dam to keep themselves safe.

The extra shows them just before they abandon the idea. This was their third, and last, attempt.

Nothing to do with Brexit, of course (although there is a cartoon in the Guardian today which ...)
