The long view

It was the most beautiful winter morning, with hard white light and not a breath of wind. The beach was calling and resistance proved futile.

Then, in the middle of the afternoon a tight grey sheet was pulled abruptly over the sky and snow began to fall.

This cliff has been fenced off a long time. I'm told it used to be a fashionable place to die. Despite the danger, it's considered cool among certain members of the student body to climb over and picnic on the cliff edge.
