Max before the fireworks

Wonderful day.  working in the yard and preparing dinner for the evening.  Surprise guests, Kevin's friend John and then Patrick and Anna.  I made potato salad with avocado mayo and leeks and potatoes and mustard and eggs and sweet pickles.  It was very good.  Grilled hot dogs and brats and corn on the cob and asparagus.  Homemade apple pie with ice cream.  The pie was one mom had made in 2016 from the freezer.  It was perfect.  She makes the best crust.  Max had a wonderful walk with John and Kevin after dinner and now he has gone downstairs with Kevin to watch the western channel.  He loves to watch the cows and we are hoping they will keep his mind off the many fireworks and explosions that happening now.  Happy Fourth of July!!!  So lucky to live here.  And soon we will be even luckier.  As Irving Berlin's mom said all the time, God Bless America.  Immigrants they were.
