Rings (not of) gold
One of the reasons for my recent slow posting is that we got married today.
Rather than bore my fellow blippers with a picture of us, I've gone for a picture of our rings. We had the simplest, smallest, cheapest wedding you could get away with and that applied to the rings, for two reasons: neither of us like the standard colour for gold rings (gold colour) and my wife's fingers can swell a bit so we weren't sure if she would always be able to wear a ring.
The larger ring on the left of the picture is mine and is made from titanium, so it's as light as aluminium but as strong as steel. It should also be more scratch resistant than gold and less likely to deform or wear like gold can. The smaller one on the right is my wife's, which is white gold, as they didn't have titanium women's rings in the shop, but it's actually mostly silver with only a little gold and it has probably been rhodium coated to make sure it looks really "white".
The ceremony we had almost the fewest number of people possible for an English wedding and the simplest vow combination possible. Our plans for a totally simple day were slight derailed as one of our friends had orchestrated a surprises afternoon tea party with most of our other friends from the village, but it was a nice surprise and we had a good time.
